Get an internship during the studies
Avoid the vicious cycle of "you need experience to get experience." We actively support our students in getting internships and even have some pre-arranged positions in partner enterprises.
Know what makes the world go round
Look at economics and business in context with sociology, psychology, and culture, so that you can run a business or start your career successfully anywhere in the world. Faculty of Economics and Administration is also a PRINCE2® Accredited Training Organization and it is the only school in the Czech Republic offering training on the MS Dynamics NAV ERP 2016 in English.
Gain the international experience
We encourage our students to spend a semester abroad to widen their horizons. Find the best business practices abroad and get ahead of your competition. Faculty of Economics and Administration also offers study programmes in cooperation with the University of Huddersfield (UK) if you aim for a second degree.
The aim of this program is to deepen the understanding of the purpose and the functioning of the business sphere – in particular enterprises, their organizational structure, management, economy, and financing. An important area of the study is mastering the analysis and design of management systems, including knowledge of management and managerial skills. Studying psychological, socio-cultural, business and other communication skills is part of the study. The complex of acquired knowledge and skills thus forms a top manager capable of covering all the essential aspects of the functioning of the company with the ability to manage the business properly and efficiently.
The studies do not require the obligatory practical training of students in enterprises and leave this area at the initiative of the students. However, the faculty actively supports internships – students have the opportunity to enrol in the Practical Training course and, if necessary, to take advantage of pre-arranged positions in enterprises. This subject usually comprises a three-week practice rated by credits but does not give an excuse from the compulsory parts of teaching subjects. Another option is a foreign work placement realized through the Erasmus+ program.
Graduates' managerial skills include effective use of time, successful negotiation with business partners, creating the public image, effective leadership, effective motivation of colleagues, the art of dealing with people and developing general communication skills. All of these enable the graduate to hold leading management positions.
Thanks to the specialized focus of the studied subjects, the graduates of the field have access to the possibility of realization in commercial enterprises in general (e.g. in higher management positions), or its specialized sections (e.g. purchasing, marketing, trade, etc.). Graduating from a Master's degree program enables graduates to deepen the general knowledge base of economic sciences and link them with practical application.
The demand for graduates with managerial and business-economics skills is nowadays very timely given the rapidly changing business conditions and growing competition. This requires managers and professionals with a broad insight and ability to apply expertise to everyday practice, to support other people in the same. At the same time, however, graduates of a Master's degree program also need a deeper, specialized knowledge of selected areas of management and business economics, which their business economics and management provide through compulsory-selectable blocks. The overall universality of the study (including the previous Bachelor's) enables graduates to apply in a wide variety of diverse businesses (above all) and organizations and represents a significant competitive advantage of the program.
