You can learn about this primarily from texts that were overwhelmingly written in Latin in the Middle Ages. In this study programme, we will not only teach you the language of these written sources, i.e. medieval Latin, but also the secrets of interpreting the various types of surviving sources.

The main objective of this program is to provide students with multidisciplinary theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are necessary for the application of systemic approaches towards optimal management of societal-territorial structures. The development will be perceived with regard to its economic, social and environmental connotations. The study develops the system knowledge necessary for the optimal use of territorial prerequisites with special attention to the implementation of development projects and tourism, which is an increasingly important factor in territorial development in all geographical scales. Students will acquire deeper skills needed to find the procedural interplay of public and private actors of socio-economic development in the region. A systemic approach to regional development is a characteristic feature of this program.

One of the challenges facing human society today is to understand the main causes and possible impacts of current global environmental change, and then to find appropriate ways to adapt to that change. The main goal of the study program is to offer students a geographical view of the current very dynamic environmental changes. The physical basis of the global environmental change is studied from the perspective of the main disciplines of physical geography. The part of the study program that focuses on the impact on society and the possibilities of adaptation is the domain of social geography. Knowledge and skills associated with methods of studying the spatio-temporal variability of the global change manifestations are covered by subjects in the field of geoinformatics and cartography.
