Global Challenges: Society, Politics, Environment
The interdisciplinary degree programme Global Challenges: Society, Politics, Environment tackles political, social, and environmental topics in a holistic fashion, preparing students for the challenges of today and tomorrow. Thanks to this approach, students learn how to address the global challenges on all levels, see the connections among the seemingly unrelated areas, and explore the fields of political science, social anthropology, environmental science, and sociology.
Gain both soft and practical skills
Your analytical skills will be honed throughout the whole programme, as will be your understanding of research methods and information evaluation in social sciences. Become an analyst in the field or continue to pursue a career in academia.
The programme does not require any formal practical training. Students are, however, encouraged to seek out internships. A field-related internship can take the place of one optional course and students can earn credits for it.
To learn more about the programme, see it on the Masaryk University website.
Graduates of the programme are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for further studies at the master's level. Besides that, the acquired abilities including analytical work, data collection, project management, information interpretation and communication, and teamwork make them fit for many fields of professional work, such as governmental agencies, non-profit organisations, private companies, and more.
The admission procedure for the bachelor-level programmes at the MU Faculty of Social Studies encompasses two rounds.
In the first round, a prospective student submits an E-application and provides a number of documents (sent online) to the admissions office, including a cover letter and an essay on a given topic. After the evaluation of the submitted documents, a successful applicant is invited for the second round: an online video interview.
For detailed information, see the Admission procedure.
